I am often astonished to see the how majestic and outlandish the clothing industry has become. For some reason it is difficult for me to understand people and their complete love for clothes. Don't misunderstand me! I like a great pair of jeans as much anyone, but you won't catch me handing over hundreds of dollars for a pair of jeans, or even for plus size coats, which can be pricey. Forget it. Not that my preferences have any effect on the style industry whatsoever. Oodles of young people are flocking to fashion styling and merchandising colleges to better learn the industry. Hey, I can not say that I blame them. There is a whole lot of money to be made there. I'm fairly certain Tom Ford is starving nowadays.
When I asked my teenage daughter what subject she wished to pursue, she began rambling on about fashion styling and marketing. Hmm, big surprise! What teen-age girl is not interested in the style industry? And I thought - hey, perhaps she can get me a deal on my plus size coats! There are a few options out there. She could market swimsuits, jeans, evening wear, plus size coats, wedding attire, avant garde fashion...the possibilities are end-less.
