Chime clocks are not, by far, a new type of design-though there are newer clocks categorized as chime clocks that have just lately been designed. With these chime clocks, you pull the chain so the hanging pieces (that suspend but they are not pendulums) end up at the top of the clock--directly under the timepiece. The chains are lowered slowly as the clock keeps the time and last for around twelve hours before they need winding again. Some come with small pendulums which fall behind the chains--but many of them do not.
Most chime clocks cannot be obtained in regular shops, but must be looked for at specialty clock shops.
Several chime clocks are wall pieces ranging widely in size and shape. The wood is stained at times--but chime clocks may be found painted, as well. There are different shades and designs--a few would go perfect in the kitchen, a few in the den or living room, a few in the study and chime clocks may also add a classy and somewhat stylish look to your office.
Most chime clocks, however, are crafted from stained wood, some arching at the top, others flat on both top and bottom having a subtle design on the sides. Some are long and slender, while some are smaller and broad--there are many variations. Regardless of who you are and what your preferences are, you should be able to find a chime clock would go with your home or workplace.
