I just came across this terrific little free online speed typing test, it uses the most common words in the English language, my score was 74 words per minute
Go here: http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com
to try it out for yourself then come back and make a comment about how many words per minute you typed at. Because it uses the most common English words if you just did this little one minute test every day for a month your speed would increase and the words you are learning to type quickly are the most used. A great little resource for you.

Hi Shelley. I’ve been looking for a good typing test as I am wanting to work from home and I hope to be able to get into transcribing somehow. I have not had a test in a number of years, so imagine my surprise when I tested at 80wpm with only 1 error!
